Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Uttar Pradesh on August 10, 2026, issued the Uttar Pradesh Co-operative Societies (Sixty-second Amendment) Rules, 2026 to further amend the Uttar Pradesh Co-operative Societies Rules, 1968.

The following amendments have been stated:

In the Uttar Pradesh Co-operative Societies Rules, 1968 for the existing sub-rule (8) of Rule 254 set out in Column-I below, the sub-rule as set out in Column-II shall be substituted, namely:- 

(8) Facility of conveyance-The Chairman shall be entitled to a staff car at the expense of the State Government and one vehicle for each Member shall be allowed on the basis of hiring at the rate of Rs. 45,000/- (Rupees forty five thousand only) per month including driver and fuel (GST will be payable extra as per rules) or at the competitive lowest rate on account of vehicle services outsourcing from GeM portal, whichever is lower: Provided that the above mentioned rate and procedure for hiring the vehicle shall be such as may be determined by the State Government from time to time in that context: Provided further that in case of providing a Government vehicle by the State Government, the permissibility for hiring the vehicle shall automatically stand cancelled.
